Cura Hospitality boosted an audience of Allegheny Health Network employees and staff through an SMS gamified marketing strategy. As the new provider in the healthcare system, they were starting from scratch in growing an audience database. They knew employees would be their most important audience and needed a timely method to begin developing their audience to promote menu items and specials.
The Challenge
The marketing director of Cura Hospitality wanted to establish an audience of potential customers. Staff and hospital volunteers would likely be their most frequent customers.
Starting from scratch, they needed a way to entice people to sign up for text messages to receive updates from the cafeteria.
The Solution
Distributing cards to staff and making them available in the cafeteria with a QR code and a unique access code. Implementing a 4-week digital gamified strategy offering various prizes would entice people to sign up for marketing. Customers scanned a QR code, entered their access code, and provided their phone number and email address to receive the prize with a unique promo code for redemption.
The Results
- Unique QR Code Scans: 9,553
- Total Opt-ins to Play Game: 10,118
- % of Players Provided Phone Number for SMS marketing: 2,912
(54.1%) - % of Players Provided Email Addresses for email marketing: 3,111
